From the drop down menu, select Picture Color Options.
This opens the Format Picture Window.
In the Picture Tab set Transparency to 60% and click OK. The Image appears lighter.
The Image will be placed behind the large Green Rectangle.
It now blends in with the Background and this will make any Text placed above the Image more readable.
For the Restaurant Flyer Title, SubTitles and Telephone, the Font used is Not Mary Kate by Nick's Fonts, which was downloaded from FontSpace.
If you want to view more of Nick's Fonts check out his website at Nicksfonts.
For the remaining Text I used a Font called Monoglyceride. It can be downloaded from FontFreak and is designed by Tepid Monkey Fonts.
(Note for a newly downloaded Font to be usable on your machine, you must first install it. Any Font installed while Microsoft Publisher is open, will not be visible in the Font List. To correct this, you will have to restart the Microsoft Publisher program after Font(s) installation.)
To Insert Text you can select the Draw Text Box Icon from the Objects Group of the Home Tab.
You can also find this Draw Text Box Icon in the Text Group of the Insert Tab.
Drag and draw a Text Box on the Flyer. You'll see a Flashing Cursor.
The Text will be very small and set to the Default Format.
Triple click while over the Text to select all the Text in the Text Box.
The Text Box Tools Format Tab will appear.
To pick a New Font for your Text, click the down arrow to the right of the Font Box in the Font Group.
Select NotMaryKate from the Font List.
Next to the Font Box is Font Size. When you select the down arrow, a list of preformatted Font Sizes appears. However, the Size that we need is not there. Type in 44 and hit your Enter Key to see the results.
The Text now appears to be too big for the Text Box as some of the Text is cut off and the surrounding Handles are Red.
To enlarge the Text Box, simply select and drag one of these Red Handles and release.
Move the Text Box to the top of the Large Rectangle.
From the Color Options Menu select our already used Blue.
Click anywhere to see the change made to the Text.
While holding down your left mouse button, drag your cursor over all the Text to select it.
In the Alignment Group of the Text Box Tools Format Tab select the Align Top Center Icon.
The Text will now be aligned Center.
Select Line Spacing Options from the drop down menu.
This opens the Paragraph Window where there are Tabs for Indents and Spacing, Tabs, and Line & Paragraph Breaks.
In the Indents and Spacing Tab set Between Lines in the Line Spacing Section to 0.69sp, and click OK.
Now the Text appears much closer.
For the Subtitles, set the Font to NotMaryKate and the Font Size to 22. Alternate between our Blue and Green Colors for contrast.
For the Menu Items, the Font is set to Monoglyceride with a Font Size of 18. Again set the Line Spacing to 0.69sp.
Set the Color of the "Address Text" at the bottom of the Flyer to Black.
Make this Text Bold by selecting the Bold Icon in the Font Group of the Text Box Tools Format Tab.
The Text will be more visible on the Green and White Background.
The remaining Text are just separate Text Boxes that have been moved into place. The Color choice is Optional, you could have also used Black Text here.
This brings you back to the Welcome Screen with the Save As Tab active. Here select the location from Microsoft's OneDrive or your Computer.
Browse to where you'd like to Save the file by clicking the Browse Button.
This opens the Save As Window. Name your file and click Save.
