Draw a Small Rectangle that covers the monitor.
The Rectangle will be surrounded by 8 Green Resizing Handles.
Click on the Rectangle to reveal 8 Red Rotation and Skewing Handles.
There are 4 Rotation Handles, 1 at each corner of the Rectangle.
The other Handles are used for Skewing.
Move your cursor over the Top Right Rotation Handle.
The cursor will change to a Rotation Arrow.
Holding down your mouse button, drag the Rectangle slightly to the right.
Select Convert > To Curve.
Adjusted Points
You can then select each Point and move slightly inward.
Now you can change the Line and Filling Color of the Rectangle to one of the Background Colors.
Here I've selected the Cream Color.
All that's missing from this Computer Classes Flyer is Text.
The remaining Text on the Flyer uses the Desyrel Font by Apostrophic Labs. Both Fonts were downloaded from Fontsquirrel.
(Note for a newly downloaded Font to be usable on your machine, you must first install it. Any Font installed while OpenOffice Draw is open, will not be visible in the Font List. To correct this, you must first restart the OpenOffice Draw program after Font(s) installation.)
For more information on Fonts and how to properly install them, visit the FlyerTutor Blog.
Notice that both the Text section and Paragraph section of the Properties Sidebar appear.
Select all of the Text, click on the Down Arrow on the Font Box and select Black Rose from the Font List.
On the right side of the Font Box is Font Size which you should set to 66.
The Text should look like this:
Select our Custom Made Maroon Color from the Font Color Menu that appears.
Select the border around the Text. It will be surrounded by 8 Blue Handles. Repeat Step 04 to create 1 Duplicate of the Title Text.
Drag the Duplicate away from the Original so that you can see the changes you make to it.
Select it to apply a Drop Shadow to the Duplicate Text.
Using your Arrow Keys on your keyboard move the Duplicate behind the Original Text.
On the Menu Bar, select Modify > Group.
The Grouped Object will be surrounded by 8 Green Handles. You should also Group the Computer with the Cream Rectangle.
To select these Objects, click on the Computer and hold down your Shift Key while you select the Cream Rectangle.
Grouping Objects will make them easier to move.
This is how your flyer should look thus far.
Before you know it, your Computer Classes Flyer is complete.
This opens the Save As Window.
Browse to where you wish to save the file. Name your file and click Save.
